What's the highest and lowest ambient temperature a motor can run?

Note: The maximum and minimum ambient temperature of a standard motor is -15℃ to 40℃.

  1. ≤60°C
    IE3, IE4 motor temperature rise is low, below 60°C so we can use use standard class F materials.
    IE1, IE2, need to use class H materials.
  2. 65°C-75°C
    Class H insulation is required.
    The motor oil seals are silicone rubber.
    The fan material should be made of metal
    High temperature bearing and grease.

  3. 80°C-85°C (Factory order only)
    Class C insulation is required.
    The motor oil seals are silicone rubber.
    The fan material should be made of metal.
    High temperature bearing and grease.
    Metal terminal glands.

In low temperature environments we can modify motors as follows:

  1. -30°C to -40°C
    The motor oil seals are silicone rubber.
    The fan material should be made of metal.
    The bearing adopts low temperature grease.

  2. -45°C to -60°C (Factory order only)
    The motor oil seals are silicone rubber.
    The fan material should be made of metal.
    The bearing adopts low temperature grease.
    Shaft material changed from C45 to Q345.
    The iron material of the housing and end cover was changed from HT200 to ductile iron QT400
    The insulation material such as slot insulation, binding tape is changed to polyimide.
    Air gap between stator and rotor is increased in the manufacturing process.

Note; Iron and steel materials have cold brittleness in low temperature environment, in the case of impact load, the shaft material needs to be changed. In the lower ambient temperature, standard cast iron material is not suitable but can be changed to nodular cast iron. The low temperature performance of aluminum alloy okay in low temperature enviroments.
