Efficiency Comparison Calculator
The Efficiency Comparison Calculator is designed to help users analyze and compare the energy costs associated with operating two different motors over a period of time. This calculator is useful tool to determine potential cost savings when upgrading from a less efficient motor to a premium efficiency motor.
- Input the Operating Parameters:
- Enter the operating hours per year. This is the number of hours the motor runs annually.
- Input the energy cost per kilowatt-hour (kWh). This value should be in pence per kWh and will be converted automatically to pounds (£) within the calculation.
- Specify the motor power rating (KW).
- Enter Details for Each Motor:
- For Motor #1 (Premium Efficiency):
- Enter the motor cost and its full-load efficiency percentage.
- For Motor #2 (Comparison Motor):
- Enter the motor cost and its full-load efficiency percentage.
- For Motor #1 (Premium Efficiency):
- Review the Results:
- Click the "Calculate" button to compute the results.
- The calculator will display:
- The energy cost for both motors.
- The difference in operating costs between Motor #1 and Motor #2.
- A summary of how much can be saved annually by switching to the premium efficiency motor.
